Hey folks!

Today I am going to be reviewing a fiction thriller named The Last Witch Trial but before that let me just acquaint you about the author and the book.

Siddharth Nirwan is an ENT surgeon by a profession and a budding writer. The last witch trial is his debut to the writing industry. I would not tag him an author rather call him a storyteller.  Why I term him that you will know as you read below…

the last witch trial by siddharth nirwan the jeromy diaries book reviewThe Last Witch Trial, is about a young postgraduate who visits the town to meet his frail uncle and finds himself collared in a midst of haunting. A letter reveals the dark history behind the 1911 witch trial where a young angelic woman is accused of being a witch and executed publicly after subjecting her to a fabricated trial in a small town. Centuries later, a series of uncanny and brutal murders are harrowing the town. Few witnesses evince her return, who is back to avenge the savagery done on her. This trial links him to the nefarious act his ancestry did and leave him aghast.

He, with the aid of an occult science expert, must fathom the chiller to endure and salvage the town from perdition before it’s too late.

Based on the backdrops of innumerable witch trials that have resulted in the homicide of thousands of falsely accused woman across the globe, The Last Witch Trial is a mystic thriller , which disbands the frontier between science and supernatural, explicit and occult and ruthlessly exposes  the social evil of witch hunting that is still rampant in India and other parts of the world.

My take on The Last Witch Trial

The story takes us to an era where in ancient India innocent women were raped and brutually murdered by subjecting them to witchcraft. The story revolves around Ajay Singh Thakur, the main character who is revealed of his shudder-some past and who is now responsible to save thousands of lives which are endangered by a raucous witch who has returned from her grave with an intention of turning the town to a city of dead. How will Ajay combat this witch? What led the witch choose this town? What is the story behind a young woman turning into a witch?

Read The Last Witch Trial to find out the mystery..

I love reading  mysteries and fiction, especially something supernatural. I was very excited when I came across The Last Witch Trial by Siddharth Nirwan.

As I have mentioned earlier, I would not term The Last Witch Trial as a book but a story by a storyteller Siddharth Nirwan who has beautifully penned down the story line. Readers will find themselves absorbed into the story and will be eager to reach the end of the story-line.

To be honest, I would read it more than once just to experience the thrill the story has brought me. The author completely grabs your attention in his narration, dialogues and most important, the character of the witch. Well readers she truly haunts you as you read about her. I for a while ain’t choosing to stay alone.  The book is a movie by itself and the trailer is just an icing to it (I have added links of the book trailer.. do watch it for the some adrenaline rush 😉 )

To all the mystery lovers, watch out for this book since you are going to love it and regret if you miss reading this one out.

And Dr. Siddharth Nirwan, your debut to writing is just the beginning “Abhi Picture Baaki Hai Mere Dost…”! 😉

Good storytellers are a rarity. So glad to hear of one!!

  • The Salem witch trials were horrible :/ it seems women have always been prosecuted using some excuse or the other in history! I bet this makes for an interesting read.

I thought witch burning was more prevalent in Europe; had no clue that ancient India too practiced this. I always thought that it was the medieval times which brought all superstitions to our culture.. anyway, this is intriguing 😀 Thanks so much, definitely getting this book

  • I am meaning to read a nice novel from so long now. Fiction and thriller interest me more and this one looks very interesting..

  • Priyanjana Roy
