Unboxing the LeEco Le 1s – First Impressions

Howdyyy 🙂

How was your weekend? Mine was home bound, planning my week ahead and clicking pictures for the blog like a maniac 😛 Oh well, I would never complain though. This is what keeps me motivated from the otherwise monotonous corporate job I do. 😀

LeEco smartphones in india (2576 x 1932)If you know me well, you also know my love for anything rose gold. So when LeEco launched Le 1s in India in two shades: Silver and Rose Gold, I couldn’t help but drool.  Without really realizing, LeEco Le 1s used the Pantone colour of the year 2016, Rose Quartz and has turned out be one of those phones every fashionista would love to try. 🙂

When I got a chance to get my hands on LeEco Le 1s in Rose Gold, I was all smiles from ear-to-ear.  Now, how long that smile lasted is what I had to test. Today, I’m going to unbox LeEco Le 1s and tell you all what my first impression about the smartphone is. 🙂

Well, a disclaimer: This is my first hands-on experience with LeEco Le 1s and this post contains everything you need to know about how it looks and what I felt about it. No technicality involved except for it’s basic specifications 🙂

But before we get talking about LeEco Le 1s, like always, a small introduction for readers who would want to know what LeEco is all about:

Founded in November 2004, Letv Group is building a “Le Ecosystem”( that’s where the LeEco comes from), an online platform with content, devices and applications.  Letv is engaged in a myriad businesses, spanning from Internet TV, video production and distribution, smart gadgets and large-screen applications to e-commerce, eco-agriculture and Internet-linked electric cars, which were announced in late 2014. It has launched four smartphones under its Le brand – the Le 1, Le 1 Pro, Le Max and Le 1S.  All the four smartphones are dual-SIM smartphones that claim to be the first in the world to come with USB Type-C ports.

On unboxing, the first thing that I noticed about this rose gold phone is it’s gorgeous design. LeEco Le 1s is sleek and comes with a  5.5-inch touchscreen with Gorilla Glass 3. The screen has a resolution of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels. The screen extends till the edges and the phone has a full metal body.

LeEco Le 1s smartphones in india (2576 x 1932)On the right side, you would see the volume button and power button. On the left, you would see the slot for a sim card. LeEco Le 1s is dual SIM with Micro-SIM and Nano-SIM slots.

One look at it from a distance, it would resemble an iPhone. However, LeEco Le 1s stands out because this phone is reasonably priced at Rs. 10,999 giving it’s competitors, a run for its money.

Considering the fact that I love clicking pictures, this comes as a blessing. 😀 I absolutely love how I can take flatlays and macro shots with this. I am already experimenting with the focus feature this has. If you see the pictures below, you can see how even a dim lit background can be changed to something  this good. 🙂

LeEco Le 1s camera review the jeromy diaries (2576 x 1731)LeEco Le 1s is definitely a budget-friendly smartphone and a boon for college-goers. I remember when I was in college, I had to pay Rs. 14,000 for a Nokia Classic Series keypad phone, which is, not even a smartphone. 😐 I mean, if I was in college and this would have been launched, I would have easily chosen this over others. It has many inbuilt applications. I will not explain these in detail now because I will be back soon with more on that.

LeEco Le 1s charger the jeromy diaries (2576 x 1932)LeEco Le 1s comes with a fast-charger which claims to fully charge your phone in 1 hour. I have tried and tested this feature. It took exactly 1 hour 15 minutes to fully charge up to 100%. I had drained the  battery completely and then tested it. Also, since the USB port is a Type-C, one would have to carry the charger on the go.

Well, LeEco Le1s decided to ditch the earphones and keep its focus on the fast charger. I mean, which smartphone brand offers a fast charger with a phone and is priced at Rs. 10,999? For me, this is not a con because I think it also gives me the freedom to choose earphones I personally love without compromising on the sound quality. I also heard a lot of them talking about the phone heating up. I haven’t faced that until now. I’ll be doing a detailed review very soon so maybe I’ll test this more to check if true.

I’ll be talking all about these features in detail in the next post 🙂

Until then,

Ciao. ♥

  1. […] 1s Eco is designed similar to Le 1s that we reviewed previously. However, this one is a blockbuster phone called #Supertainment phone […]

  2. Well said, indeed a great buy at that price range. I loved the phone too and how it looks all sleek.
