HI EVERYONE!
I know the festive season in India is almost over but here in Canada, the holiday season is almost here! Halloween went pretty well here and I had a treat spotting children in their trick-or-treat costumes. Halloween is taken very seriously around here. I even saw a few car trunks that had fake feet creeping out of them, trying to show how ready they were for Halloween. Since this was my first time, I spent mine learning how they celebrate it. 🙂 Now that Halloween is done, holiday season has officially swept in! This is my favourite time of the year and that cold nip in the air is everything I have wanted right now.
Anyhoo, today I am sharing an outfit that I styled really long back but couldn’t post because of my move. This was shot in namma Bengaluru with my favourite photographers Arjun Shaw and Chaya Gogoi 🙂
About the outfit
This outfit clearly shows my love for palazzos and I fell in love with the embroidered ends on this one. I paired it with a lace top and accessorized with a pair of boho earrings that one of our followers, Ayushi gifted me at a meet and greet in Bangalore and a Daniel Wellington Classic Petite Sterling Mesh strap watch in 32mm I received a few months back.
If you haven’t heard of Daniel Wellington(which is very unlikely), here’s a small story about the brand:
DW founder Filip Tysander came up with the idea of classic and neat watches after being inspired by an Englishman he met in Australia. This man he met loved vintage watches on old, weathered NATO straps. NATO straps look like this…
Looking at this, Filip decided to create watches with minimalistic details drawing inspiration from the man. Filip called these watches Daniel Wellington. Why? Well, the Englishman’s name is Daniel Wellington. 🙂
I have always been fond of DW watches and loved how the founder used user-generated content for social media, making it this BIG in 6 years. I love how classic their designs are and have such minimalistic details. They started out with NATO straps, followed by leather and now mesh straps.
Now that you know about that, you must be wondering what the blog title has to do with all of this. Well, I thought I should let you know how my life took a turn in such a short time and if the change has been good.
When I look back at this day when we shot for this look, everything was simpler. I had a job that I was so happy about, I had all my loved ones around and I had the best team to work with for the blog – Arjun & Chaya. I had so many ideas and concepts to shoot with them, I had planned so much for the coming months etc. And then, everything changed. I had to leave my job, which was the toughest call I made. I went back and forth about that decision. I landed here and I had to learn their new culture, new things and you somehow feel like you don’t fit in. The fact that I was a workaholic and here, I felt so helpless when I did nothing. I got homesick. Oh! That was me for the first 3 weeks here. After this, things slowly started to look up for me. I met new people, explored around quite a bit and slowly started to like every place in this city, Toronto. I think the move felt better when Fall began. I have slowly started to fall in love with this city now.
While all this happened, I couldn’t help but think how change can be so discomforting and have its drawbacks. But it is inevitable. I realized that the moment I embraced change, I felt so much more better. I realized that I had to give away the things I already have to achieve something I always wanted.
It sounds easy when you think of it but when it REALLY happens, you might end up with second thoughts. But don’t fall back. What I have truly learnt is, change is the only constant that can help you grow. If we don’t change, we don’t really grow. And if we don’t grow, we aren’t really living. 🙂

This is one of my favourite shoots you’ve done, and I’ve always admired DW watches too! I’m glad you’re settling in though, I remember how chaotic it was just before you left! And I’m super proud of how far you’ve come 🙂
You are so damn pretty! It’s a delight to see your pics!
