A littel about FENDI for people who have no idea about the brand!
FENDI
The house of FENDI was established by Adele and Edoardo Fendi in Rome in 1925. The opening of the first FENDI boutique– a handbag shop and fur workshop followed. Soon winning international acclaim, FENDI emerged as a brand renowned for its elegance, craftsmanship, innovation and style. In 1965, the collaboration with Karl Lagerfeld begins and continues today. In 1992 Silvia VenturiniFendi seconds Karl Lagerfeld in the creative direction. In 1994 she is given responsibility of leather goods accessories and then the direction of the kidswear and menswear lines. In 2000 the LVMH Group acquires FENDI becoming in 2001 its majority shareholder. Since 2008 FENDI is partner with Design Miami/. Today FENDI is synonymous with quality, tradition, experimentation and creativity.
FENDI is pleased to present its new video ‘Bad Dream’ featuring British singer songwriter Chlöe Howl for the Spring/Summer 2015 Orchidea Sunglasses. The video takes its name from the singer’s new single to be released during May 2015 and is taken from her forthcoming album.
The set that hosts this unique video is the one of a car, a timeless place, open to all projections of the mind behind Chlöe’s FENDI Orchidea Sunglasses. In that moment dreams and fantasies become true while the landscape projects its own lights creating a beautiful and luminescent, sometimes surreal, atmosphere. The idea is to make a beauty shot of Chlöe who has fallen asleep on the backseat of a taxicab and to follow her through the different worlds of her dream that reflects in the car, on her face and across the surface of her FENDI Orchidea Sunglasses. A momentum caught between dream and reality which will transform Chlöe.
“I’m really pleased with the video I’ve made with Fendi for ‘Bad Dream’ to present their Orchidea Sunglasses range. It works really well with the song and my idea of style, we had fun making it too! I wrote the song with Joel Pott when I was 17, just after my family’s business had hit the rocks. It was a really tough time for my parents and I wanted to write a song that sent out the message that things are going to get better. I was listening to loads of different bands at the time – the Strokes, Foster The People – and wanted to write a song with a similar poppy, yet guitar based vibe,” states Chlöe Howl.
About Orchidea Spring/Summer 2015 Sunglasses
For the Spring/Summer 2015, FENDI presents the Orchidea sunglasses: inspired by the exotic orchids embroidered on the new ready-to-wear and accessory collection, these sunglasses are a declaration of femininity and sensuality. As an orchid that blossoms in a mix of colors and shapes, the Orchidea sunglasses is a stunning interplay between two frames floating and blending together, in a geometric overlapping of layers and colors. The oversize translucent butterfly shape features colorful cat-eye acetate, inserts outlining the eyes: the dazzling result of a skilful handmade craftsmanship, emphasized by architectural contrasts between smooth lines and sharp edges, with flat metal temples in refined enamel colors.
The palette includes beautiful combinations of transparent and vivid shades, recalling the colors of the subtle orchids, the new iconic décor of the Maison: crystal with black, khaki with pink, beige with burgundy, turquoise with white. These sunglasses are available at FENDI boutiques and selected high-end opticians worldwide.
About Chlöe Howl
Chlöe Howl is a pop singer who burst onto the UK music scene during 2013 aged just 17 years.
Hailing from Holyport near Maidenhead in England – described by Howl as the epicenter of boredom – she quickly made a name for herself with her striking looks, outspoken lyrics and pop sensibilities. By the age of 18 Chloe was co-writing songs with music giants including Eg White, Sam Preston, Richard X and Joel Pott developing a skill for composing brash pop songs with scalpel-sharp wit. During December 2013 Howl was nominated for the BBC sound of 2014. Her debut single ‘No Strings’ was playlisted at Radio One and featured in the film soundtrack to ‘Kick Ass 2’. Subsequent singles ‘Paper Heart’ and ‘Rumour’ received widespread radio play across the UK and Europe as Howl notched up an impressive 12 million youtube hits. During 2014 she was Brit nominated for the Critics Choice Award losing out to Sam Smith. Chlöe spent the rest of 2014 writing and recording new material as well as touring internationally. Playing support to Bastille, John Newman and Ellie Goulding across Europe as well as her own shows around the UK and North America with festival appearances at Glastonbury, T in the Park, V and Bestival. Having just turned 20 and living in East London – widely regarded as the epicenter of cool – Chloe is busy putting the finishing touches to her debut album. Her latest single ‘Bad Dream’, will be released in May 2015 and is simultaneously featured as the music for the FENDI Orchidea Sunglasses Video.
