Hello everyone 🙂
How has your week been so far? Mine has been quite crazy if I must say. 😐 Sometimes this routine of waking up, heading to work and sleep gets too much to handle. The only thing that keeps me sane is blogging 🙂
Today I bring to you a review of one of the most trusted brand Garnier. I am reviewing a variant called Garnier Pure Active Real Neem Face Wash 🙂
Before I start reviewing this particular product, I would like to share my experience about my relationship with acne 😛 Oh, yes! I have been there, done that! As a teenager, I did have acne woes. I mean who doesn’t ? 😛 For the ones who say “No, I didn’t!” , let’s just have a moment of silence 😛 Anyhow, like every other teenager I used to try out every single home remedy, try all kind of products in the market to find that particular “magic portion” that would banish all my pimples and give me clear skin.
The worst part of being a teenager with acne all over the face was every relative you meet or every friend you meet ends up suggesting a different remedy. One incident where I have been a victim of this scenario is when my aunt suggested I go to a salon and get some treatment done. Don’t ask me why but I did pay heed to what she said and entered a salon for the treatment she suggested. When I went in, I had few pimples on my forehead and chin. How did I come out? I came out red-faced, like a freaking TOMATO! Why the red face? That treatment was utter torture to my skin. We are always taught not to squeeze out pimples, aren’t we? That lady at the salon just squeezed out every single pimple on the face which caused dents on my face. 😐
That’s it! I stopped listening to anyone and everyone and worked on my own skin care regime. And from then to now, there is no looking back! 🙂 The most important thing that I realized in the long run was- trying to understand your skin type first and then working on what products suit you and what doesn’t. One more thing that really makes a difference is what you eat. Detoxification is very important and that has actually been my saviour past few years.I am not a teenager anymore but now I can definitely say I know what things work for me and what don’t. Also,my relationship with acne was over (I dumped him 😛 ) except for the ones that rarely appear during “that-time-of-the-month” 😀
Now you might think, why I have been narrating all this right? Because Garnier has been a very important part of this journey. I have been using their lemon face wash for the longest time and I LOVE it! There is absolutely nothing that works like that on my skin! And when Garnier launched their Pure Active Real Neem Face Wash with the packaging revamped, I thought I would give it a try. Mainly because Garnier Lemon Face Wash got my love for almost 5 years now and I needed a change 😛
So l have been using this one for 2 weeks now and I would share my experience on the same 🙂
Product Name: Garnier Pure Active Real Neem Face Wash
Price: Rs.55 for 50g
Rs.80 for 100g
Product Description by Garnier:
My take on Garnier Pure Active Real Neem Face Wash
Packaging: Unlike the earlier version of Garnier Pure Active Neem Face Wash where it used to be a screw cap mechanism, this one has been revamped to a flip-to-open mechanism. I find that way easier because trying to close the screw cap while you have the gel in one hand can get clumsy. Besides that, the packaging is pretty much the same as the old one. It’s a white tube that is small and quite handy. I can’t really comment on the “travel-friendly” pointer since I haven’t carried it in my bag anywhere till now.
Texture: The consistency is gel like and green in color. The gel isn’t runny nor too thick, just the right amount of both. On application, it lathers quite well. I use just a pea-sized amount and its enough to cover my entire face.
Experience: I have combination skin that is oily during summers and dry during winters. We are having our last few days of winter right now and moisturizing my face is an essential part of my skin care routine always. That being said, this face wash has worked really well for me. This face wash is recommended for oily skin and it works well for oily skin. I wouldn’t recommend this one for dry skin at all since this helps in oil control and that would work against dry skin and give you a patchy dry cactus face 😛 I loathe face washes that leave a slimey residue on my skin. I feel like the face wash is not off my skin yet and splash water until I get that squeaky clean feel. When I wash my face with this one, I get that squeaky clean feel without leaving out any residue. Oil is controlled to a great extent but DO NOT skip out on moisturizing your face after cleansing your face because during winters your skin could get a bit dry and patchy.
This face wash hasn’t given me any break-outs as of yet. I’m happy I purchased this now because during summers this would work wonders. Also, on application there is a very cooling sensation because of the presence of Menthol. So you know NOW when I say it would work wonders during summers right? 😛
Listing out the pros and cons-
Pros of Garnier Pure Active Real Neem Face Wash:
- Budget-friendly
- Easy-to-use packaging
- Doesn’t cause break-outs
- A little goes a long way
- Gives that squeaky clean feel
- Controls oil to a great extent
- Best for summers
- Lathers well
Cons of Garnier Pure Active Real Neem Face Wash:
- If you have combination skin, it could get a bit dry during winters. But that is if you skip moisturizing your face. So I wouldn’t list that as a con of the product but the fault of the consumer 😛
The Jeromy Diaries Verdict
On the whole, I can see myself using this one until it gets all the love and when I need a change, I can again switch back to my Garnier Lemon Face wash 😀 Both work really well but if you are looking for a face wash to control acne and oil, I would definitely suggest Garnier Pure Active Real Neem Face Wash 🙂

I am using another facial ash also by Garnier. The one which is mask, scrub and wash 3 in 1 and I love it! Never tried this before but sure does sounds promising. xx
