Day 6 is here! Can’t believe how fast this is going. I’ve had so much fun putting together these series and will be so sad when it all ends on Day 11. Today, I’m talking about face masks and one brand that has constantly stood out in this category is – Summer Fridays.
Summer Fridays is a brand founded by two bloggers – Marianna Hewitt + Lauren Gores Ireland who dreamed up their first product—a simple mask that would leave skin looking gorgeous whether you’re hopping off a plane or just running out the door. The cult favourite – Jet Lag Mask. People loved it so much that they came out with more interesting formulas for masks that have become bestsellers now. It is best to get these during the Sephora sales and right now during the Holiday Savings event 2020, you could save at least 10% off on your order if you are a Sephora Beauty Insider. You save more if you are VIB (15% off) and Rouge member (20% off).
Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask
I was honestly on the fence about trying Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask at first because the price is definitely a lot for a face mask ($63CAD for 64g which almost makes it $1 per g. LOL) but I got it during the Sephora Insider sale last year for a 10% off to test it. I started out with the bestseller – Jet Lag mask first to see how it works.
Packaging is dreamy! The branding and colour is on point and the formula – I can understand why people love this face mask so much. I’ve been using it for almost a year now and I save it for days when my skin needs a bit extra love and it doesn’t disappoint. The formula is everything! It is an ultra-hydrating cream face mask with skin-loving ingredients that help with hydration and radiance. The formula is a rich combination of ceramides, vitamins, antioxidants, and anti-inflammatory ingredients that help to combat puffy, inflamed, over-worked skin.
I use this in different ways – as a sleeping mask, during the day or on days when my skin feels really dull. I always wake up to glowing skin the next day. I save this for special occasions and it never disappoints! It brightens up my skin, makes it softer and hydrated. My first tube has lasted me more than a year because I usually rotate through my other masks as well but honestly, I keep going to this always for the simple reason that it delivers instantly and how!
Ingredients:
- Chestnut Extract: Activates the natural exfoliation process, polishing away dullness so skin looks radiant, healthy, and well-rested (even when you’re not).

Summer Fridays Overtime Mask
This mask is a clarifying mask that uses vitamin-packed pumpkin and exfoliating apricot seed powder to polish away dead skin cells for baby smooth skin. Literally! It works amazing on dull, congested skin and pores. This mask has soothing oat kernel proteins and free radical-fighting antioxidants that help with brightening your skin.
After trying the Jet Lag mask, I tried the Summer Fridays Overtime mask and it worked so well for my skin. I use it on days when my skin feels congested, dull and when I need some good exfoliation to get rid of the dead skin cells.
Ingredients:
- Pumpkin: Packed with fruit enzymes, vitamin A, and vitamin C to smooth and brighten skin.
- Apricot Seed Powder: Natural gentle exfoliating powder that removes dead skin cells and helps circulate blood flow to skin.
- Beta Carotene: Supports natural cell turnover, creating a natural-looking glow.
How to Use: You use the mask on clean dry skin and massage in circular motions for 60 seconds. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes and wash it off. If used twice a week, it can help with that baby smooth skin throughout the week. After washing off the face mask, I follow up with Summer Fridays Jet Lag mask.
Price: $58CAD for 64g
Summer Fridays R+R Mask
I got to try this through the Summer Fridays Holiday set I got last year that had mini versions of the R+R mask, Overtime mask and a full size of the Jet Lag mask. I got it for around $68CAD (yes, the entire set) and I found it much easier on the pocket instead of getting full sizes of each.
Summer Fridays R+R mask is a two-in-one mask to buff skin brighter while also helping with hydration with the mix of restorative natural oils. This mask helps with dark spots, dryness, fine lines and wrinkles.
Ingredients:
- Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate (Vitamin C): Provides antioxidant benefits, skin brightening properties, and supports natural collagen synthesis
- Argan, Safflower, Sesame, Avocado, Grape Seed Oils: Provide fatty acids, vitamins, and antioxidants while soothing irritation.
- Rose Flower Powder: Polishes.
How to Use: On dry cleansed skin, apply to face, neck, and décolletage (lower neckline). Gently massage, avoiding eye area. Leave for 10 minutes. Remove with damp washcloth and pat remaining oils into skin for a nourishing glow. So it’s a no wash mask.

I definitely get the hype behind these face masks. Love the outcome after using these masks. These are masks for those special days when I need some extra love for my skin. If you could choose one out of these 3 face masks, which one would you go for?
