Hiii everyone 🙂
How are you all? Winters are soon approaching, December is just a few days away and I’m super excited about Christmas! Winters are definitely my favorite time of the year and what makes it even better for me is Christmas 🙂 No matter what my age is, I have always been fascinated about Christmas like how I was when I was a child. Attending Christmas Eve Mass, sending Christmas Greetings to relatives, gifting dear ones, rose cookies(for people who don’t know, it is a Christmas delicacy), decorating our house with lights and obviously decorating our Christmas tree ♥ ♥ December is definitely my month! What is your favorite month? 🙂
Anyhoo, today I am reviewing another favorite of mine- Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Antwerp. Let’s see how this one fared for me 🙂
Product Name: Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Antwerp
Product Price: $6.00 for 8ml
Product Description by Nyx
Neither lipstick nor lip gloss, this matte lip cream is a new kind of lip color that goes on silky smooth and sets to a matte finish. Soft Matte Lip Cream is surprisingly durable and, unlike some matte lipstick formulas, also moisturizing.
My take on Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in the shade Antwerp
This was part of my Nyx haul here.
Packaging: This lip cream comes in standard lip gloss kinda packaging but with a matte black applicator wand. The applicator is quite nice as it takes the right amount of product for a single application but the only thing I don’t like about it is the lip color goes on streaky while applying. Because of which I have to just dab and then use my finger to spread it evenly.
Color and Texture: This is a nudish pink shade that easily passes as a MLBB shade on me. For people who don’t know what MLBB means- it means My Lips But Better. 😛 So this shade is a nude pink which looks perfect on my skin tone. It doesn’t make my face look washed out at all. Unlike Morocco which was a bold shade, this one is a very soft and toned down shade. Doesn’t look too bright and works perfect for work even if you layer it up twice. The texture of this lip cream is super smooth. It goes on smoothly and after a few minutes sets to a matte finish. It can be quite drying if you have very dry lips. Make sure you apply a lip balm before putting this on or else it would settle in the fine lines. Also if you have chapped lips, this lip cream would REALLY accentuate that so make sure you have exfoliated your lips very well. Antwerp is super pigmented just like Morocco. These lip creams have a sweet bubblegum kind of fragrance which fades gradually on application.
Staying Power: This one stays easily on me for 5-6 hours. This is the good thing about these lip creams- they stay for hours and hours and reapplication is hardly ever needed. All this because these are super pigmented. 🙂 Also, these soft matte lip creams are transfer-proof so you don’t have to be conscious about staining tea cups or mugs when you are out
Pros of Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Antwerp:
- Super smooth texture
- MLBB shade that looks good on Indian skin tones
- Super pigmented
- Stays for long hours
- Cute packaging
- Applicator takes the right amount of lip cream for a single use.
Cons of Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Antwerp:
- Goes on streaky while applying.
- Availability in India 🙁
- Without a balm, it will settle in fine lines.
- These are super matte lip creams so make sure your lips are in good condition or else it would look pretty bad. 🙁
The Jeromy Diaries Verdict
On the whole, Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Antwerp is a must-try for everyone who likes soft tone colors. It’s a perfect MLBB shade and if you wanna go bold, you can definitely layer it up 🙂
